Got the uniforms out of the garage tonigh to air and dry in the house for a couple of days.
Now then, wools or HBT?
The weather looks like it's going to be kind to us on Sunday, dry and around 18 degrees or so. If I'm bossing chaps about chances are I won't be dashing around so I'll keep nice and warm in wools. But then if I'm moving from front to front keeping on top of the action then I'll sweat like a pig.

Bugger it, I'll take it all!

Cut the uniforms in half, sew the opposing halves together and wear it all at once. Job done.

I can do the cutting but not the sewing  self-adhesive velcro I can do, that way it could be re-attached to 'normal' mode. Now I have finished faffing with my boots I have time to waste so I'll get on to it tonight...

When Forester, the Major and I were at Beltring, one of the guys in Baldrick's (Ben) re-enactment group had a split uniform - one half Waffen SS Officer other half British Officers - Cap, Jacket, Shirt, Tie and trousers and wore different footwear   Looked fantastic as his after the MoP's had gone drinking wear

We did! We were ordered to "tactically withdraw" about 4 times! :rocker:

After a hot bath and a good nights sleep (brrr, it dropped cold on Saturday night) I now feel able to string a few coherent words together!

Well, what can I say - well done the Germans!

I've not had an official verdict on who won what but I am assuming the verdict will be decisive. I have to admit that my heart sank when I saw DPM clad figures filling the safezone - it's not what I have been used to these past two years. Still, there was a job to do and we needed all the bodies we could get and some site knowledge wouldn't come amiss either!

I think it's fair to say we were in complete control throughout the day, ground we occupied was always held with the odd incursion being swiftly dealt with.

So, three cheers to all of you. I can't fault you - to a man (generic term!) you did what you were told to do, went where you were told to go, got the job done - without complaint. What a difference a strong and positive leadership, clear strategy and a willing army make! And three cheers to the gun crews and especially the ammo runners who worked their socks off. Thanks too to my 2IC Headshot whose support meant we could keep two fronts under close command when needed.

Finally, a quick word concerning the odd grumbles about being ordered to fall back throughout the day (I know airsofters don't like being told to pull out of a firefight they think they are winning). It was true to the scenario - Germans were in a pickle, being progressively surrounded and squeezed. Our supply lines were constrained or non-existent meaning ammunition, ordinance and medical supplies at times ran out. The priority was to withdraw troops to safety, along the way using what towns we occupied or what artillery we had to best advantage, holding back the tightening noose as long as we could keeping a corridor open for our extraction.

Final, final note. It's just possible we lost all our 'winning' points by Webby subtracting points everytime the medic was shot - sorry mate! Cracking day, cheers for all the effort put in, a day to remember!

It was a little frustating going backwards all day, especially when we had no need to. However I did enjoy our fighting retreats, picking off a few yanks and then withdrawing through to the next line of defence to a new position. By the end they were that cautious that we could just stroll off without concern of being overrun.

I think I was the only person who didn't shoot Webby, despite him accusing me of doing so. :raspberry:

I made up for it. I just liked the ringing sounds made by the BBs hitting his helmet.

Yeah, well done to the Germans, once again showed the Allies that we need another training day to teach the new recruits. If you offer your gaze over to the debrief you'll no doubt see the result that you all know.

Well played guys, and yeah I wasnt supposed to be shot, but who cares, made it more fun running under fire, I can only hope the red cross was moving far too quickly for you to hit! (apart from the blatent hose down off HS) hehe :)

I abandoned the victory points just after the 2nd 88mm scenario, it was quite clear that you'd beaten the pants off the Allies, especially as the Falaise pocket was all about the Germans trying to make it to safety, but in retrospect, the pocket raimains unclosed! :)

Thanks for making it all possible guys, hats off to you all....

and lardy,... makes a change you not picking me out all the time hehe!

You were too efficient with the ammo runs - we ran out of ammo to feed the 88 so it was pointless holding out with small arms against an encircling and mechanised enemy.
Erm, so it looks like the fighting withdrawl from Falaise was your fault!
